The humiliation of our Saviour
Hope in the Midst of Suffering

Encouraging Devotion
There are moments in life when we feel misunderstood, mocked, or treated unfairly. In those moments, it helps to remember the suffering of Jesus, the One who was mocked as a King, yet remained silent because His love for us was greater than His pain.
Before the cross, the Roman soldiers stripped Him, placed a scarlet robe on Him, and pressed a crown of thorns into His head. They laughed and bowed in fake honor, not realizing they stood before the true King of glory. What they meant for humiliation, God turned into a picture of divine victory.
The crown of thorns became a symbol of our redemption, the moment when Jesus took our shame so that we could wear a crown of life. The robe of mockery became a robe of righteousness for all who would believe in Him. The silence of Jesus was not weakness, but strength, a strength that trusted the Father’s plan even in the darkest hour.
When you go through suffering or when others misunderstand you, remember: Jesus understands your pain. He walked that path first. He was rejected so you could be accepted. He was wounded so you could be healed. He was humbled so you could be lifted up.
The same Jesus who was mocked and beaten now reigns in majesty and one day, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord! (Philippians 2:10–11)
So take heart today. You may be facing trials, but your King has already conquered. What seems like defeat in your life may be the very place where God is preparing your greatest victory.
Reflection
What area of your life feels painful or misunderstood right now?
How can you draw strength from the example of Jesus’ endurance and humility?
Jesus, “He wore the crown of thorns so you could wear the crown of life.”
Even in suffering, God is shaping something beautiful in you — a testimony of His grace, power, and victory.
Prayer
Lord Jesus,
Thank You for showing us that suffering is not the end, it’s the pathway to glory.
Help me to stay strong when I’m mocked or misunderstood.
Fill me with Your peace, courage, and love.
May my life reflect Your humility and victory.
Amen.
Ps Ronald
