Boundary lines have fallen in pleasant places
“My Lines Have Fallen in Pleasant Places”
Psalm 16:6 (NIV) — “The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.” David’s words in Psalm 16:6 are a powerful declaration of trust. He wasn’t saying life was perfect or problem free. He was saying, “God has drawn the boundaries of my life and because it’s God who drew them, they are good.”
In a world where people constantly compare, compete, and sometimes complain about what they don’t have, this verse invites us to pause and recognise the goodness of God in our own portion. The “boundary lines” speak of the areas where God has placed us our calling, our family, our gifts, our journey, our season. And David declares that what God has assigned is not random, not accidental, not inferior but pleasant, purposeful, and filled with His favour.
You may not understand everything happening in your life right now. Some boundaries may feel tight. Some seasons may seem unfair. But when God is the One holding the measuring line, your inheritance is secure, blessed, and full of promise. Your pleasant places are not defined by circumstances they are defined by God’s presence.
Wherever He has placed you today, He is working all things together for good, shaping your future, and leading you into His delightful inheritance.
Prayer: Lord, thank You that the lines You’ve drawn for my life are good. Help me see Your hand in every season and trust that my inheritance in You is secure and beautiful. Amen.
Ps Ronald
