Believers Authority
Devotion: Authority Over Demonic Powers
Scripture:
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19 (KJV)
Reflection:
When Jesus sent out the seventy disciples, He equipped them with divine authority to confront the forces of darkness. They returned amazed, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name!” (Luke 10:17). This same authority has been given to every believer today not because of who we are, but because of whose name we carry.
Through the finished work of the cross, Jesus disarmed principalities and powers (Colossians 2:15). Therefore, believers are not called to live in fear or intimidation but in victory and boldness. The name of Jesus is not a ritual or formula it is a weapon of power and a declaration of His triumph over the enemy.
When you face spiritual opposition, remember that you are not fighting for victory but from victory. Christ has already won, and His authority now works through you. Speak His Word with confidence. Command darkness to flee. Stand firm in faith, clothed with the armor of God, and walk in the authority Jesus has entrusted to you.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for giving me authority over all the power of the enemy. Help me to walk in faith, not fear. Remind me daily that the victory is already won in Your name. I choose to stand firm in Your Word and exercise the authority You have given me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
